February 2010 Prayer Calendar
- A week of storms knocked out power, phones, internet, all of our tools for ministry except the main one, God’s power to overcome. Please pray that as we re-gather under His umbrella and redouble our efforts in His service, that bringing Him honor will bring His blessing in all we do.
- Please pray for our staff members who are at Westmont, Concordia, Vanguard and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo this week recruiting for summer staff. Pray that these visits to different schools will result in a good number of qualified candidates for our summer season.
- Pray for these groups that are on grounds this week:
· Mountain and Sea Adventures – youth science camp
· Linfield Christian School – youth
· Christian Rodders & Racers Association – adults/couples
· Orange County Outdoor Science School
· Lake Avenue Pastors
- Please pray that the hearts of the kids coming to winter camps are open to the Word of God they hear and that important decisions will be made that change their lives.
- Praise God for all of our guests during these winter months. Pray for safe travel up and down the mountain for all of our visitors. These groups will be here this weekend:
· Junior High Winter Camp – Weekend #5
· Emmanuel Faith Community Church – Junior High
· Ojai – La Habra Hills Presbyterian
· Ojai – Valencia Hills Presbyterian
- Praise for little Brody Nathaniel Hicks, born January 18th to Brad & Amber (Guest Conferences Coordinator). Both mom and baby are healthy and happy. Please continue to pray for the Hicks as they welcome this beautiful boy into their lives!
- Praise God for all of the young campers who have accepted Christ this winter or have made other significant decisions regarding their walk with the Lord. Pray for their families and their churches, that they will encourage and support these young people.
- Praise God for our Buildings & Grounds staff – they have worked so hard to make our grounds safe following our big snow. There are a lot of Forest Home walkways, roads and parking lots that needed shoveling, plowing and scraping. They are always ready to help anyone who needs help. We appreciate their efforts.
- Pray for our summer staff recruiting team as they visit Azusa Pacific University, Cal-Baptist, Point Loma, and Fresno Pacific this week. Pray that God provides richly and that this will be a wonderful summer of ministry to guests and staff.
- Several of our staff have requested prayer for family members who have or will soon be deployed to the Middle East and other parts of the world as part of our country’s war on terrorism. Pray for safety of our military and God’s resolution to the war.
- We give glory to the Lord for the strong financial finish Forest Home experienced for 2009. We thank and appreciate all who have given of their resources to further this ministry and the work of the Kingdom.
- Junior Winter Camp #5 and our first weekend of High School Winter Camp are arriving today. Pray that solid decisions will be made for Christ this winter as we minister to over 7,000 kids at winter camps this year.
- Pray for these groups that are on grounds this weekend, that they would experience God in an incredible way:
· Between Two Trees – couples
· Ojai – Holy Cross
- As today is celebrated as Valentine’s Day, let’s be mindful to pray that the marriages of couples who attend and work at Forest Home will be strengthened in Christ.
- Pray for our Forest Home Women’s Auxiliary and the wonderful work that all the chapters do for the ministry of Forest Home. Many will be able to attend camp this winter and summer because of their commitment and efforts.
- Johanna Avalos, from our Accommodations Team, has asked prayer for her family as her father passed away on December 26th. Pray also for Irene Felix, who takes care of our guests in the Roundhouse, as she had a family member die tragically on Christmas Day. Pray for the comfort that only God can provide for these two families.
- Continue to pray for our summer staff recruiting team as they visit Biola and Hope International colleges this week and that they find those who are qualified and led to serve at Forest Home this summer.
- Pray for these groups that are on the mountain this week, that God would speak into their hearts and lives:
· Pacific Southwest District of the Wesleyan Church – adults
· OCOSS – Orange County Science Camp
- Pray for church youth workers who are preparing to bring their kids up to Forest Home for Winter Camps. Pray for hearts ready to hear what God would have them hear; a time of fun and life-changing experiences.
- Pray for these groups that are on grounds this weekend, that they would experience God in an amazing way:
· High School Winter Camp
· Junior Winter Camp
· Winter Couples Retreat
· Moorpark – Couples
- Pray for the Accommodations staff which works tirelessly, even in inclement weather, to see that cabins and meeting rooms are cleaned and ready for guests.
- Please pray diligently for our program directors, our executive team and our department heads, that God’s Spirit fills and guides their lives both at work and at home, and that their leadership would reflect walking humbly with Him.
- Pray for the Outdoor Education programs and leaders from Orange County and the Mountain and Sea staff who use the example of God’s creation at Forest Home for teaching young minds.
- Pray for the safety of the staff and guests as they are presented with the many challenges ice and snow brings to a hilly terrain.
- Continue to pray that Forest Home will be a strong witness to the communities of Forest Falls and Oak View.
- Pray for these groups that will be on site this weekend:
· High School Winter Camp
· Junior Winter Camp
· Women’s Conference
· Marriage and Family
· Taiwanese Presbyterian
· USC
· Ojai – Our Lady Assumption
- Pray for the team that works in our Roundhouse answering and directing the many phone calls and questions, while maintaining a “hub” of information for guests on grounds.
- Pray that the decisions made on this mountain over this last month will be made strong by dedicated Christians who will follow-up these decisions with accountability, teaching and prayer.
