Justin’s story began when his mother was late picking up his sister at an after school program run by the local church. That’s when Justin’s mother met Anthony, the youth pastor that runs the program.
No coincidence, that Anthony quickly learned of the dire circumstances the family was living in. Dad had lost his job and after two surgeries was in bed with pneumonia. Mom was caring for four children and living without electricity because there was no money to pay the bills.
The family was drained. They were out of everything, particularly hope. In fact, hopelessness was the only thing they had an abundance of.
Through God’s provision, the church was able to come alongside this family. The congregation gathered together and restored the electricity. The family was so grateful they decided to give church a try.
The whole family came to church, but Justin just didn’t fit in. Mom pleaded with the youth pastor to help him. He needed rescuing the most. He was detached and unresponsive every way they tried to reach him.
Anthony had an idea, what about bringing Justin to winter camp the following weekend? He explained the value of camp and the impact it could have far beyond what they could do on a Sunday morning.
Mom agreed and they were able to find a spot for Justin. That’s when his life changed forever!
Away from his friends and the stress at home, Justin was transformed! He got to throw snowballs at his peers and connect with other teens where he truly felt part of a community.
He had a genuine experience with his Creator and his heart opened. He poured his life out to his leaders. He had been far away from God. He admitted to struggling with multiple drug addictions but because of what God did that weekend, his life was transformed.
When Justin returned home, his mom could not believe the change in him. And, today, the whole family attends church and is on fire for the work God is doing in and through them.
You and friends like you, made it possible for Justin and his entire family to experience God in a real way. Their entire family knows the love of their Creator because of your love for Forest Home and what God is doing here.
Would you let God use you to change even more lives like Justin’s today? Please prayerfully consider giving to our 2011 Ministry Plan today so that even more young people can experience God? Click here to give securely online or download and fill out the donation form and mail to:

Whether it is a struggling single parent, an inner-city child, a family touched by unemployment or various other hardships, a camp experience will have a long lasting impact on their spiritual growth.
Here is one thank you from a past Campership recipient:
“We never could have afforded a vacation without your help...you have blessed our family. My husband and I spent many hours talking and sharing our lives together. My two children loved the week and can’t wait to come back next year.”

CAPITAL PROJECTS
Thanks to the generosity of donors, Forest Home has been able to make many capital improvements to enhance the facility. Examples of this include funding to help refurbish cabins, provide new recreational enhancements, and upgrade roofs and pools. Maintaining a facility built in 1938 that serves 57,000 plus guests each year on over 600 acres of property is an enormous task. Yet, providing a welcoming and safe environment is core to our mission of providing a place away from the distractions of the world where people can hear the Word of God and encounter Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit. When guests have enjoyed a good night's rest and a delicious, healthy meal, they tend to be more open to receive what God has for them. The relationships that are built at Forest Home, whether on the zip line or around a meal, often have both generational and eternal impact. Capital gifts help maintain and enhance the facility and are vital to reaching people with the transformational love of Christ.
