In our fast-paced, changing world, we see increasing numbers of hurting kids, families, and adults. Hopelessness, loneliness and despair run rampant in our culture. The constant pressures of our busy lives often rob us of the peace our Lord created us to enjoy.

Forest Home continues to provide a place of rest and sanctuary, away from the distractions of our world, where boys and girls, men and women can slow down and hear His still, small voice; connect with their Creator, and experience His healing touch.

Every year we hear story after story about how Christ has used Forest Home to draw people to Himself, heal broken hearts, restore marriages, mend hurting families, and prepare His people for His kingdom work here on earth. The annual fund is designed to support, sustain and strengthen our front lines ministry so these stories will continue to be told for generations to come.

With your gift to the Forest Home Scholarship Fund, you make camp more affordable for an individual or family with a financial need. Whether it is a struggling single parent, an inner-city child, a family touched by unemployment or various other hardships, a camp experience will have a long lasting impact on their spiritual growth.

Here is one thank you from a past scholarship recipient.

“We never could have afforded a vacation without your help...you have blessed our family. My husband and I spent many hours talking and sharing our lives together. My two children loved the week and can’t wait to come back next year.”

-Denise,

CAPITAL PROJECTS

Thanks to the generosity of donors, Forest Home has been able to make many capital improvements to enhance the facility. Examples of this include funding to help refurbish cabins, provide new recreational enhancements, and upgrade roofs and pools. Maintaining a facility built in 1938 that serves 57,000 plus guests each year on over 600 acres of property is an enormous task. Yet, providing a welcoming and safe environment is core to our mission of providing a place away from the distractions of the world where people can hear the Word of God and encounter Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit. When guests have enjoyed a good night's rest and a delicious, healthy meal, they tend to be more open to receive what God has for them. The relationships that are built at Forest Home, whether on the zip line or around a meal, often have both generational and eternal impact. Capital gifts help maintain and enhance the facility and are vital to reaching people with the transformational love of Christ.

New Retail Renovation Project

Forest Home is making some exciting, new changes to our retail operations and recreation offerings. In order to better serve you and provide increased opportunity for building relationships, we are making some improvements to our retail and recreation facilities. We strive to be good stewards of our resources and facilities, while being responsive to the needs of our guests. You and your experiences at Forest Home are our main priorities.

These changes are currently underway and will be phased in over the coming years, dependent on donor contributions.

Phase One:

We reduced the bookstore space and moved our craft activities into the back portion of Blinco. We also added a new outdoor craft deck where families can participate in crafts together while enjoying the beauty and grandeur of God's creation. New retail and specialty items were also added to the Clubhouse.

Moving forward, we will convert the former Elliot Craft Cabin into a meeting space. This will allow us to better serve our summer youth, as well as accommodate the many churches who request to bring their groups to Forest Home throughout the year and require additional meeting space. This will enable Forest Home to touch nearly 2,000 more lives each year with the love of Christ!

Phase Two:

As funds become available, we plan to phase out the current bookstore and shift the game room into the front portion of Blinco. This space will be come a comprehensive family recreation area. We also plan to convert Stagecoach to an inviting retail and lounge area. Guests can purchase retail items or just relax with a cup of coffee. New snack bar and retail spaces will also be added to outlying camp centers in order to provide these campers with their own unique places to gather and connect with each other.

How Can You Become a Partner?

We are excited to provide these new improvements to enhance your experience at Forest Home. Each aspect has been carefully designed to help foster family connection and community. However, this will only be possible with the generous support of our partners.

The total cost for these new renovations is approximately $425,000. You can help make this a reality. No gift is too small.

If you would like more information about partnering with Forest Home on this project, contact Phil Brown at 714.625.6893.
