Exped
Student EXPED is an experiential education program designed to give students the opportunity to learn through interactive classes in an outdoor setting. This experience will broaden students’ total education and create a sense of wonder at the intricacies of the natural world. Take them out of the classroom to the outdoors, where your lessons will come alive. Provide them with an opportunity to take steps of courage as they face fears, overcome challenges, deepen friendships and build a framework for lifelong learning in the outdoors.
Students attend the classes & activities in smaller groups, as these are offered in a rotation. Curriculum is experientially focused and based on educational standards, primarily 4th-7th grade. The Forest Home staff will tailor an experience that works best for your group.

Housing is provided in canvas-sided platform tents with 8 beds in each. These comfortable tent cabins are in small clusters among the oak groves lining the creek. Bathrooms are located in nearby bathhouses.
The grounds are spread out over various ravines and plateaus, with a noticeable hill separating the upper and lower areas of camp (the elevation change is about 30-40'). Forest Home’s Ojai Valley is nestled in an area of gentle hills spotted with numerous shady oak trees.
(Guests of all ages are required to participate in scheduled sessions and activities)
