Erik Theonnes, Pastor at Grace Evangelical Free Church
Erik is amazed that God saved him as a boy in Connecticut. He is blessed by his wife Donna, who has been a faithful ministry partner since 1989. Together, they adopted their daughter Caroline from Taiwan. Erik is a pastor at Grace Evangelical Free Church and an Associate Professor of Theology at Biola University where his love for people and desire to teach them the Bible is quenched. He has earned a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology, as well as other degrees in Biblical studies, evangelism and philosophy. He has also served as a professor at Wheaton College and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Illinois. His primary research interests include the character of God, godly jealousy, humor, play, and a Christian view of sport. Erik’s main goal in life is to love and glorify Christ more each day and help others to do the same.

John Stothers, Worship Leader
These past 3 years John has worked as Director of Worship and the Arts at Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena, Ca., where he has embraced the challenge of leading the enormous ethnic, stylistic and generational diversity of Lake’s worshipping community.
Previously John worked as a writer, composer and producer of music theatre, having written numerous shows, among which included SeaWorld’s, “Shamu: Believe!” show and his 18 year labor-of-love theatre project, “Pilgrim”, which played in Hollywood and New York.
John’s ongoing journey following Christ has led him and his family into some unique venues and adventures, but most of all John has enjoyed taking part in the leading God’s people into worship with all their heart-languages.
He and his wife Sandy have two sons, Caleb and Rawlin, who have grown up at Forest Home themselves and served on summer staff.
Sandy and John live in Pasadena, CA where, in their spare time they tend to their unruly garden, their unruly neighbors and their 9 unruly chickens.
