New Rates for Youth in Summer 2010

August 22, 2009

DEAR MINISTRY DIRECTORS, YOUTH PASTORS, AND PARENTS,

THE GOOD: It is great to hear stories expressing a belief in camping and the value it brings to our youth. Each time we meet, talk, or visit with partnering ministries we are amazed at how their experiences at Forest Home have changed so many lives.

THE BAD:
With this incredible blessing also comes honest communication that the cost of camp has become a true barrier to churches and youth. This pains our staff because we so deeply desire for each and every student to come experience camp.

THE AMAZING:
We are passionate about collaborating with you to increase your attendance, improve your experience, and remove any barriers to coming to camp. That is why we want you to know we are decreasing your total camp cost by over 20% next year for the 2010 summer! Please see below for how next year’s rates lead to big savings for your church and your students.

YOU’RE KIDDING RIGHT?
So you are asking yourself: “How can Forest Home do that?” Well, we are re-arranging the week at camp to decrease your stay from a Saturday departure to a Friday morning departure. This allows us to reduce your rate, design a program which is more concentrated, and give you a day to have off before you go back to church on Sunday.

Above all, we want to tangibly express to you our commitment to reach out, hear your concerns and do something about it in real ways. Your feedback and our commitment to partnering with you resulted in us dropping our rates and reinventing our camp week for you!

 SO, WHAT’S THE CATCH?

ACTUALLY, NONE.

Our rebooking and reservation process has changed a bit. Here’s how the NEW process works:

Priority Rebooking – Simply put, your dates are your dates! If, for example, you’re coming week 7 and those are the best dates for you each year, then you have the first priority to rebook them.

NEW Rebooking Procedures – You will have 3 weeks from your date of departure to return a “Request for Contract – Intent to Return” form—this is not your contract—it simply tells us that you want to come back. Upon receipt of that form, we will send you a contract. You’ll have an additional 3 weeks to return that contract with all necessary signatures and deposit.

If you want to change dates next year – If you desire to change dates next year, then you will be put on a priority waiting list until the priority rebooking period expires for the newly desired week. It is strongly recommended that you rebook for your current dates so you do not lose out altogether should your alternate dates not become available.

If you are a new Church – Call us now, because space is limited and we desire to have you in camp for the 2010 season. Your contract will be processed upon understanding your dates and needs.

Something NEW and VERY IMPORTANT – In previous years, many groups enjoyed the comfort of being able to cancel their summer contract up to March 1st of each year and only lose their deposit. Under these new procedures once a contract is signed and returned, your group will be responsible for the entire financial commitment of the contract. That’s why we’ll work diligently with you on writing contracts for group sizes that you’re comfortable with and that will protect your interests as well.

SPREAD THE WORD – If you refer a new or a returning church* who did not attend in 2009 to Forest Home, next year (2010) your counselors will come for free! All you need to do is have them let us know your church and name, and we will waive the full counselor rate. This incentive applies to any church that refers a group to summer 2010. That is an additional 5% savings for your church next year. Add that up and camp costs 25% less than in 2009!

We are certain that once the news of our new offering hits the streets several new people will look to begin a relationship with us. But just in case you haven’t picked up on it yet, we seriously care about our relationship with you and your group! That’s why you are our first priority in offering this new opportunity!

SO, HERE’S THE BOTTOM LINE:

Forest Home wants to partner with you and serve as your long term camp and friend in ministry. This process brought new areas of growth for us, an excitement that you enjoy giving us feedback, and an excitement about the future of partnering with you throughout the year. Thank you.
