Dear Educator,
It is our great pleasure to invite you to our new Experiential Education  (EXPED) program at Forest Home Ojai Valley. EXPED builds on a traditional fifth or sixth grade outdoor education program that includes foundational components like plants, animals, ecosystems, and environmental awareness, but it goes well beyond that. Our interdisciplinary program emphasizes the student’s hands-on participation in a broad array of educational experiences. Our curriculum also seeks to expose students to elements of arts and creativity, music and rhythm, teamwork and cooperation, and personal growth and development.
Our caring staff brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the content-driven elements of our program, as they seek to instill in your students a sense of wonder and discovery. You will also find that our staff is incredibly committed to you and your students as we open our home and invite you and your students to engage and interact with the amazing natural world that is so accessible to you during your time at camp. We count many of our past participants among our valued friends and have enjoyed long-term relationships with many of our schools and teachers. Our EXPED season runs primarily during the months of April and May, when everything is green and flowering throughout the camp. We offer the options of a five-day program starting with lunch on Monday or a three-day program starting with lunch on Wednesday. Both programs conclude with lunch on Friday. We recognize that it is a sacrifice of time and money to bring your students to camp, but we assure you that for most of your students, their camp experience will be the highlight of their
school year.
We would welcome you to come out for a visit to see all that we have to offer, or if it is more convenient, we would love to visit your school and explain the many benefits of our program to you in person. We look forward to hearing from you and partnering with you in the months to come.
