The Staff Experience

For many of us, the old concept of “workin’ for the weekend,” simply falls flat. The notion of career is shifting to the idea of vocation or calling. The idea of work that is fulfilling is an increasingly attractive concept. For those who would seek to follow after Jesus, it is more than a good idea, it is an imperative from Jesus Himself. He told us that He came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10)!

It is our strong desire that all staff members at Forest Home would honor God in all that we do—on, or off, the clock. We join together as a community of believers, co-laborers in the cause of building God’s kingdom through the experiential ministry of Forest Home. As part of the staff at Forest Home, we look beyond our own self-interest to the ideals of collaboration and cooperation; believing that God has placed each of us here by His own design for His own purposes. At its core, Forest Home is nothing more than a nice little resort in the woods if it is not, more fundamentally, a move of God to draw people to himself and send them out into a world that desperately needs to know the restoration He offers.

We are a people in process, and as such, we experience the peaks and valleys that all communities experience. But in those places, we cling to a common hope, a higher belief that we join our hands in the very work of God. This calling to serve God’s people is not without its challenges, but as we are faithful to our task, we measure the fruit of our labors in lives made new, and we walk in the fullness of life that Jesus intended.

If you find resonance with these concepts, we welcome you to read on and see what opportunities God may have for you at Forest Home.
