About this retreat
Ready to slide down a snow-covered tube run? Encounter Jesus? Deepen friendships with students in your youth group?
Junior High/High School Combo Winter Camp is THE place for your 6-12th grade campers to get away from the academic and social pressures and instead focus on their identity in Christ and place in God’s family of believers. During a 3-day weekend of camp running Friday through Sunday, students will discover who God has made them to be through teaching from God’s Word, small group discussions, and relevant worship.
Of course, no Winter Camp is complete without the fun! Creative games and interactive team challenges ensure there is never a dull moment. Campers have the freedom to explore the many seasonal recreation options at Forest Home all weekend long. (Hot chocolate at Stagecoach, Zip lining through the trees, or Phase Ten by the fireplace, anyone?) Campers will enjoy living in community, making new friends, and creating memories that will give them confidence as they navigate the changes and challenges that middle school so often brings.

Speaker: Dex Alexander
Speaker: Dex Alexander
Dex Alexander has been in various forms of creative leadership and follower-ship for over 20 years – he cut his creative teeth as a touring musician, then transitioned to creative director and worship leader for churches throughout the US. Along the way, he’s freelanced, contributed to braintrusts and collaborated with brands both domestic and international.
Dex is married to Noemi and has two children, Zoe and Ezekiel.
His latest adventure – he’s the founder and CEO of Black Roses, a creative agency and cionsulting firm that specializes in getting people to fall in love with hard to brand organizations.
Lovelite is from San Diego, Ca. Lovelite desires to offer a unique approach to worship music.
Fronted by the married duo of Andrew and Jen Polfer, the band embodies an otherworldly sense of reverence in textures that recall the vibes of retro new wave with influences in indie rock and a slight touch of hip hop. Pawn shop synthesizers, worn drums, and programmed beats are wrapped in layers of reverb with two voices that paint an image of God’s creativity and grace.
The band’s lyrics emphasize spiritual gratitude in language that mixes pop hooks with the stateliness of traditional hymnody. Lovelite avoids familiar praise music in favor of something more individual yet also invitational with a worshipful atmosphere.
