THE RADIANT DISCIPLESHIP PROGRAM

Formerly known as the CCA Program

The Radiant Discipleship Program is a Christ-centered camp experience for girls ages 13-18 who love Jesus, love caring for children, and want an unforgettable week at camp. Rooted in the promise of Psalm 34:5 – “Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame” – girls will deepen their walk with the Lord and build lasting community through intentional discipleship. At the heart of the program is joyful service, as girls live out Christ’s love by providing childcare for Family Camp and blessing families in His name.

The community that the CCA program brings is one of my favorite parts. Through this, I was able to make lifelong friends who love Christ and glorify Him through creativity just like me! Through seminars and cabin devotionals, God has taught me what authentic faith looks like. Every CCA Counselor in the program displays this faith and it has strengthened mine so much! The counselors and staff at Forest Home are trained and strong in their faith-which means they are awesome to talk to about hard life situations! Camp is a great time to make some rad memories but also learn spiritual life skills.

The Radiant Discipleship Program is a “closed program,” and we do not allow visitors or non-registered campers to visit. Exceptions can be made for family to visit a Radiant camper getting baptized by contacting radiant@foresthome.org.

While girls are serving at Forest Home as Radiant campers, we expect all Radiant campers to have a servant’s heart and positive attitude. Radiant campers will be expected to serve, participate in their own programming, and connect with their peers and leaders around them. We expect and encourage all Radiant campers to approach their responsibilities throughout the week with a positive attitude and a willingness to serve.

Forest Home reserves the right in its sole discretion to ask that any Radiant camper who we feel is not following these standards to change their behavior and/or to be sent home. Campers sent home for not adhering to camper expectations will be ineligible to return to the Radiant Discipleship Program for the remainder of the summer.

All programming is designed for our campers to grow in their relationship with God, connect with others in community, and serve families through childcare. Between Lip Sync Battle, lake days, and chapel sessions, your camper is sure to have a great time!

Childcare is a core part of the Radiant experience, and it’s what makes our program truly unique. As girls grow in their understanding of Jesus and His love, they get to put that learning into action every day by caring for the children (ages 0-10) at Forest Home’s family camp. This hands-on, experiential approach helps Bible truths and Christlike love come alive, creating lifelong transformation in the hearts of our Radiant campers.

Each day, Radiant campers serve in two main ways:

  1. Morning Trail Adventures – Radiant campers choose an age group to work with throughout the week, guiding children through Bible stories, games, and activities.
  1. Evening Babysitting – Radiant campers are assigned to specific families, helping with meals, bedtime routines, games, pool time, and more. This experience changes daily, and returning campers get entirely new experiences with different families each week.

Through these opportunities, girls bond with one another, navigate unique challenges, and practice serving with love – all while seeing God’s Word come to life in real time. It’s not just sitting and listening; it’s learning, loving, and leading in the middle of camp life.

The Child Care Assistant (CCA) Program has been loved for many years and has helped thousands of girls walk with Jesus! But as the program has grown and strengthened through new curriculum, improved policies, and a renewed focus on discipleship, we realized the name no longer reflected the heart of what God is doing. Our girls are not simply learning childcare; they are becoming radiant daughters of God. The new name reflects that vision.

The name Radiant Discipleship comes from Psalm 34:5:

“Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.”

“Radiant” describes the joy, confidence, and peace that comes from knowing and following God. A disciple is someone who learns from Jesus and tries to live the way He teaches: loving others, serving, and growing in faith. In the Bible, Jesus called people to follow Him (Matthew 4:19), teaching them not just to listen, but to live His love in everyday actions (John 13:34-35).

At Forest Home, Radiant Discipleship means helping girls see Jesus’ love, learn from Him, and put that love into action, whether through caring for children, encouraging friends, or making choices that reflect kindness and faith. This program is about helping young women grow in character, empathy, and courage.
