Did you know that kids and adolescents ages 8-18 spend 7.5 hours on electronics each day? That’s over 2,000 hours each year. A recent study by the Nature Conservancy showed only 6 percent of children ages 9-13 play outside on their own in a typical week. What can camp do for your kid? Camp allows your kid a whole week (10,080 minutes) free of distractions. They are led by caring adult role models, participate in high-adventure recreation, experience the wonders of nature, and have to time to think without distractions.
What does that look like at Forest Home? We want to help parents not only get their kids and youth outside, but that through our camps, kids can encounter Jesus and be transformed by the Gospel. It’s a win-win. Your kids will get to play crazy high-adventure rec games, tug-o-war in the mud pit, kayak on Lake Mears (or even get blobbed!) hike along Mill Creek, and explore the beauty of the God’s creation. We hire staff who are called to ministry, have a heart for sharing God’s Word, and are excited to lead your kids each week. Kids will get the hear the Gospel and discover what happens when we make a decision to follow Christ. Explore our website to learn more about our kids and youth camp programs at Forest Home.
