They, whoever they are, say that good things come in small packages. I believe this to be true in so many ways, and as the Program Director of Children’s I see this come alive with every child that walks through our doors at Forest Home. Winter is such a beautiful season, filled with love, laughter, life and change. It very much reminds me of the purposes of God and how He has ordained a time and season for everything. As we prepare for Winter Camp 2019, I can’t help but think that God has something amazing packaged up for these students who may only be with us for just this one weekend. It’s one weekend, where we will speak about One God, who sent His One and only Son, for every-One. It’s my prayer that what happened 2,000 years ago, not just on that cross but also in that tomb, brings an even greater sense of purpose and meaning to what I believe to be an already extraordinary time of year. I’ve heard it said that Jesus would have done it all for just one person, and I can’t help but feel the same way with regards to what we are doing here at Forest Home. To see even just one young child give their heart and soul to Jesus and confess Him as Lord would make all of the work, the turmoil, the sweat, and tears worth it. This season is wonderful because we get to see the little children come to Him (Matthew 19:14). The most innocent of whom we are as humanity collides with most Exceptional of all we could ever hope to be. If your child is not already signed up to attend Winter Camp with your church at Forest Home, I would ask that you would prayerfully consider adding that to their New Year itinerary. I can say with full confidence, it will be just what they need as they head into the next season God has prepared for them.
